The 4 Different Trading Styles 🔫

Before diving into them, we must know which ones are them.

Or maybe you prefer catching bigger moves over a few days?

Well, there are only four types of styles.

1. Scalper: A scalper is a momentum trader who seeks to capture impulse moves and take profit fast.

   Hold time: 1 min - 60 min

2. Day trader: A Day Trader is a hybrid trader who opens and closes positions on the same day and doesn't hold them overnight.

   Hold time: < 24 hours

3. Swing trader: A Swing Trader is a hybrid trader who holds positions overnight/ multi-day and aims to catch bigger moves in the market.

   Hold time: 2-14 days

4. Position trader: A Position Trader is a hybrid trader who seeks to catch longer-term moves in the market, such as multi-month trends or even entire bull/ bear markets.

   Hold time: Several weeks or months

Easy to ask, impossible to answer. Every single trader is different.

The fun side is that it’s easy to be profitable in any style as long as you put in the work and are able to learn.

In my experience scalp trading is a bit hard. reason, is as a scalp trader is trying to catch quick movements in the market “Too much pressure if you’re a beginner, right?

But the reality is. If you’re profitable in one of the four styles, you"‘ll be profitable in the other ones.

The answer is already inside of you. What do you like the best?

Perhaps you don’t have much tolerance for being in front of a chart all day so you chose to be a position trader.

Perhaps you learn fast and you’re able to sit for hours and focus on scalp trading.

Who knows?

Only you.

Learn, test, practice, practice, suffer, practice, succeed.

My mentor told me this exact same thing when I was starting.

I first starting investing. “buy &hold” amateur behaviour bruv. 🤦🏼‍♂️
Then I made good capital and moved to position trading and got rekt. 🫤
Then I meet my mentor… 🤝
Then I learn swing trading, and position trading the right way. 📈
I specialised in these two. However, I day trade sometimes.

I want you to understand that there is not a perfect thing.

You make it perfect.

rule #1… do not get killed.
